EMC Connectors: Shielding for Interference-Free Data Transmission!
Shielded connectors are specifically included in our zero8, Colibri®, and hm 2.0 connector series. EMC protection for connectors is important when component density on the printed circuit board is high or when harsh environmental factors can interfere with data transmission. The EMC shielding integrated into our zero8 assembly is particularly well-suited for components with high electromagnetic compatibility requirements,

Connectors with EMC shielding for the highest quality PCB connections
High component density on printed circuit boards (PCBs) increases the risk of mutual electromagnetic interference. To mitigate this, we recommend employing shielded EMC connectors. The connector shielding helps achieve better electromagnetic compatibility (EMC). Electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) is crucial for the interference-free operation of electrical components and applications.

Our EMC-shielded connectors from the "Zero8 Board-to-Board Connectors" series feature shielding on both sides. The shielding plates on both sides ensure optimal EMC performance. This guarantees interference-free data transmission in virtually any environment and application. The shielding material used in these connectors is specifically designed for components with high electromagnetic compatibility requirements. A maximum coupling inductance of 10 picohenries is guaranteed. This specialized connector shielding makes the PCB connectors of the Zero8 family the optimal choice for artificial intelligence applications.

The large-area shielding design of our EMC connectors reliably diverts interference currents toward the ground connection via multiple contacts on both circuit boards. The effects of electric and magnetic field strength on the PCB connectors can be clearly simulated using coupling inductance. Conversely, in cases where the connector could act as a source of interference, adjacent components and parts are effectively protected.
Applications for our EMC connectors
Our shielded connectors have a wide range of applications. From the automotive industry to industrial automation, the possibilities are endless. Our EMC connectors are suitable for the following applications, among others:
- Board-to-Board (Mezzanine)
- Parallel and Right-Angle Connections
- Shielded and Unshielded Versions
- COM Express®
- CoreExpress®
- VITA 59
- Embedded
- Industrial Automation
- Datacom
- Military
- Aerospace
- Heavy-Duty Systems
- Telecommunications / Data Transmission
