Explanatory Note on the POP Regulation (EU No. 2019/1021)
Regulation (EU) 2019/1021 on Persistent Organic Pollutants (POPs ) is an agreement that establishes binding prohibitions and restrictions on certain persistent organic pollutants.
Based on the information currently available to us, we confirm to the best of our knowledge and belief that the prohibited substances listed in Annexes I and II of the aforementioned directives are not used in the products we manufacture.
The EU intends to impose comprehensive restrictions on PFAS substances. The current proposal from ECHA calls for a complete ban on all PFAS raw materials 18 months after the ban takes effect. ECHA’s decision is expected by the end of 2025.
Exemptions are planned for a few specific applications. Transition periods of 6 to 13 years are envisaged for these cases. We are fulfilling our obligation and informing our customers about which PFAS substances are used in our products.
