    Automotive
Almost every car in the world contains a connector from ept.
For decades, all leading automotive brands have relied on our custom automotive solutions for connectors and PCB interconnects.

    Punching
    Punching
Stamped contacts are manufactured in our stamping shop using automatic stamping machines that we have developed and built ourselves. This ensures the highest quality, cost-effectiveness, and flexibility. We utilize technologies such as stamping, bending, cutting, AOI, and in-process quality control.
    Plastic injection molding
    Plastic injection molding
Our insulating and plastic components are manufactured on various injection molding machines and with varying degrees of automation—depending on the product’s process requirements. In addition to conventional injection molding, we produce overmolded parts (hybrid parts) and reel-to-reel overmolding, and offer in-process quality inspection using CAQ.
    Electroplating
    Electroplating
Electroplating of contact surfaces for connectors.
In our electroplating facility, we operate six continuous-flow systems at two of our locations. Various plating processes enable a wide range of surface combinations (e.g., Sn, Ni, SnPb, Au, PdNi, NiP, In, and AgSn) across a broad range of layer thicknesses on different materials (e.g., CuSn4, CuSn6, CuNiSi, etc.).
    Assembly

Custom manual, semi-automated, and fully automated
    assembly of connectors.
    Equipment Manufacturing
    Equipment Manufacturing
In-house manufacturing of connectors and pins. ept's manufacturing division combines a wide range of expertise, including development, design, tool and machine manufacturing, control and regulation technology, programming, and electrical assembly.

    Press-fit technology
    Press-fit technology
Press-fit technology for connectors in the automotive industry. In press-fit technology, an electrical connection is established between opposing layers of a printed circuit board by pressing a connector pin into a through-hole in the board. To do this, a hole is drilled through the board and copper is applied as the base material.
    SMT
    SMT
SMT in connectors for the automotive industry.
In SMT (Surface Mounting Technology), connectors are soldered directly to the surface of the printed circuit board (PCB) using solderable contact pads. This is achieved by depositing solder paste onto the defined solder pads and then heating the assembly in a reflow oven. The oven’s individual zones first melt the solder, after which the temperature is gradually reduced to allow the solder to solidify.
