Stack printed circuit boards at different intervals

In electronics design, parallel PCB connections often need to be adaptable to a wide variety of space requirements. With ept’s One27® SMT PCB connectors in a 1.27 mm pitch, the distance between two stacked PCBs can be variably adjusted within a total range of 5.8 mm. This is made possible, in part, by the various available profile heights: both male and female connectors are available in low-profile and mid-profile variants. The different possible combinations of these profiles result in a minimum PCB spacing of 8 mm and a maximum spacing of 13.8 mm.
This range is further expanded by the high anti-misinsertion protection of the One27® connectors. A pair of connectors can be variably connected within a range of 1.5 mm. Secure contact between the contact pin of the blade connector and the double-sided spring contact of the spring connector is guaranteed thanks to the remaining contact distance of 0.9 mm. The maximum possible PCB spacing when using a mid-profile spring-loaded header in combination with a mid-profile blade header is thus 13.8 mm. If, on the other hand, a low-profile spring-loaded header is inserted all the way into a low-profile blade header, the minimum PCB spacing is 8 mm.
Thanks to 90°-angled spring and blade terminals, the One27® SMT connector system also allows for right-angle and horizontal PCB layouts. IDC spring terminals can also be used to connect ribbon cables to the PCB. All connectors in the One27® product family are available in 12, 16, 20, 26, 32, 40, 50, 68, and 80-pin configurations. They are also verified to be compatible with existing SMT connectors with a 1.27 mm pitch from other manufacturers.
