Available now: Colibri 25+ Gbps high-speed connectors!
The demand for connectors for demanding high-speed data transmissions is constantly growing - and with it the range offered by connector manufacturer ept. The Colibri high-speed connector is not only available in the 16 Gbps version, but also in the 25+ Gbps version. It meets the requirements of the COM Express specification and is therefore suitable for applications in accordance with USB 3.1 Gen2 and PCIe 4.0. The Colibri connector is therefore not only suitable for industrial automation, but also for medical and measurement technology, building technology, consumer electronics, gaming, transportation and automotive electronics.

Like the previous versions, the Colibri 25+ Gbps is available for a PCB spacing of 5 or 8 mm. Plug and receptacle are offered by ept with 220 pins - a 440-pin version, consisting of two plugs or receptacles with 220 pins each, is held together in a placement frame. The Colibri 25+ Gbps is planned for 80 and 120-pin versions. The connectors of the different generations will be layout- and plug-compatible with each other.
Whenever high data transfer rates are required, the Colibri is the connector of choice: the small high-speed professional is primarily used in mezzanine board-to-board systems and COM Express specifications.
By continuously optimizing the plug's contact design, ept has succeeded in developing a high-speed connector with the Colibri 25+ Gbps that is not only compatible with PCI Express Gen4, but also enables excellent signal quality and is therefore a better alternative to the more interference-prone USB 4.0. In addition, the Colibri with 25+ Gbps is ideal for Ethernet applications, as a data transfer rate of 100 Gbps can be achieved by connecting several lines in parallel.
