ept expands its portfolio in the edge card category by a variable 0.8 mm pitch solution. The EC.8 is built for speed and even omits one component compared to traditional connectors. This results in fewer points of contact and junctions in comparison to a female-male connection setup. The operational current and transfer rate properties are therefore positively affected. A fast and clear signal reaches the application at transfer speeds of up to 24 Gbps.
The edge card technology shines in the areas of data transfer and signal integrity. Well thought out features such as an insertion chamfer, a coding key and misalignment pins simplify handling of the connector and make incorrect connections of a daughter card virtually impossible. Variable pin counts, from 20 to 200 pins in steps of 20, make the EC.8 a flexible option for many applications.
