Electronica 2018: Phoenix Contact and ept are going to present new board-to-board connectors
Phoenix Contact and ept are launching a new series of robust board-to-board connectors with 0.8 mm pitch. The jointly developed connectors will be shown at the world's leading fair for electronics, electronica, in Munich for the first time. These connectors are equipped with a new type of contact system that meets the high safety requirements of industrial PCB connections.
With contacts on both sides, the ScaleX technology guarantees a long-term stable electromechanical connection, even in the event of stress caused by shock or vibration. At the same time, the principle shows high tolerance regarding connectors that are positioned differently due to assembly. In addition, the insulating housing's geometry reliably prevents incorrect connection of the connectors. At the electronica, Phoenix Contact and ept present shielded versions with 12, 20, 32, 52, and 80 positions. The closed shielding ensures a high electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) and is therefore ideally suited for error-free data transmission with high-speed performance up to 16 Gbps. In future, both providers complete their respective product series FINEPITCH 0.8 (Phoenix Contact) and Zero8 (ept) with shielded and unshielded versions for stack heights up to 20 mm as well as with angled versions.
