ept GmbH is a certified “Authorized Economic Operator” (AEO).
AEO status, which is granted by German Customs, offers a number of advantages, particularly with regard to risk assessment in the movement of goods. One of these is a significant simplification of customs inspections, resulting in faster processing.

Statement on RoHS Directive 2011/65/EU
RoHS (Restriction of the Use of Certain Hazardous Substances) is the directive restricting the use of certain hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment.
We confirm that, according to the RoHS certificate (see download), our products comply with RoHS 2011/65/EU and do not contain the following substances in concentrations exceeding the specified limits:

- Mercury (Hg)
- Cadmium (Cd)
- Hexavalent chromium (Cr VI)
- Polybrominated biphenyls (PBB)
- Polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PentaBDE, OctaBDE, DecaBDE)
- Perfluorooctane sulfonate (PFOS)
ept has long taken environmental sustainability into account when developing new products. As part of the implementation of the aforementioned European directives, our products were converted to RoHS-compliant components as early as 2004.
Throughout this transition, quality has always been our top priority; there are no limitations whatsoever on our insertion technology in terms of function or processing. Lead-free connectors are 100% compatible and can be pressed into “lead-containing” printed circuit boards without any problems.

Information on PFAS / PFOA
The EU intends to impose comprehensive restrictions on PFAS substances. The current proposal from ECHA calls for a complete ban on all PFAS raw materials 18 months after the ban takes effect. ECHA’s decision is expected by the end of 2025.
Exemptions are planned for a few specific applications. Transition periods of 6 to 13 years are envisaged for these cases. We are fulfilling our obligation and informing our customers about which PFAS substances are used in our products.
